The Gala on the Bluff (GOTB) is our signature event and is the college's primary scholarship fund-raising initiative. Over the past 11 years, we have awarded over $500,000 in support to our students. Attended by more than 700 guests each year, the GOTB acknowledges deserving students who demonstrate the need of assistance to help pursue their dreams of earning a college education.

The success of our annual Scholarship Gala is driven by the generosity of our community partners and friends. You can make a difference for current and future generations by helping to sponsor this event and/or attending.  By becoming a sponsor, you can help students in our community fulfill their dreams of a college education.

GLOBAL LEARNERS AND LEADERS- attended a three-week certificate program entitled “Strategy & Marketing for Emerging Countries,” organized by the host institution - the International Business School Americas (IBS) in partnership with Universidade Paulista (UNIP). The program included lectures, case studies, and visits to companies to learn how Brazilian firms practice global business.

The SU group included COB MBA graduate students LaToya Middleton, Brian McCain, Abner Patin, and Chiquita Spears; and undergraduate students Emmanuel Baker (senior, accounting), Erica Hampton (senior, marketing), and Gabrielle Holden (senior, accounting and finance).

According to Jennifer C. Caldero, assistant to associate dean and graduate programs director in the College of Business, participating students received an international quality education focused on current global realities and challenges.Brazil is one of the largest emerging economies in the world and our COB students had the opportunity to explore and appreciate a different culture. In the past, the College of Business MBA Program has organized similar study abroad programs to South Africa, Uganda, and China. “The study abroad program to Brazil was designed to simply prepare MBA and undergraduate students to better understand their own cultural values, be respectful of other cultures, become global citizens, and assume significant roles in an increasingly global economy and interdependent world,” said Caldero.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, not only were we able to award 17 students outright scholarships, we sent
eight students to Sao Paulo, Brazil for a study abroad program
